The College of International Relations, Ritsumeikan University is now recruiting a permanent faculty member as follows.

1.Area of Specialization: Religion in international relations, or Comparative family studies


2.Main Teaching Responsibilities:
宗教と国際関係 or 比較家族論 (Undergraduate level),
It would be desirable if you could teach either Japan and the West (Undergraduate level), Globalization of religion, Cultural theory, 日本研究, or Special studies on international relations (Graduate level), besides these classes mentioned above.
* The assigned classes are not limited to the above. One is not required to teach all the afore-mentioned classes, either.

Qualifications


Applicants must meet all of the following eligibility requirements:
(1)Ph.D. degree or equivalent research achievements.
(2)Ability to conduct classes in English AND Japanese based on the academic discipline of sociology, anthropology, history, or area studies.
(3)Willingness to contribute to administrative duties in Japanese at the university.

Compensation

1.Position Available: Professor or Associate Professor

2.Number of Classes: 5 classes per semester in average(One class is 90 minutes long.)

3.Employment Status:Full-time(Tenured)

4.Other work conditions are stipulated
in Ritsumeikan regulatioins such as REGULATIONS CONCERNING SALARIES OF TEACHING STAFF AND OTHER STAFF.

Interview & Syllabus Submission:
Short-listed candidates will be asked to submit sample syllabi in English and Japanese, and conduct mock lectures also in English and Japanese during the interview.
Interviews might be conducted online.
