[Mission of the Team]
The RIKEN Heavy-ion Linac (RILAC) provides not only intense medium-heavy beams as an injector for the RI Beam Factory (RIBF) accelerator complex, but also provides beams directly to various experiments such as superheavy element research and RI production, producing world-class research results. The RILAC is a system with a total acceleration voltage of 39 MV, consisting of mainly a frequency-tunable RFQ, a frequency-tunable linac of the Wideroe type, a frequency-tunable DTL, and a recently commissioned superconducting linac. The team is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upgrading for efficient and stable operation of RILAC.

Job description:
The successful candidate will lead the RILAC Team and take an initiative role in the stable operation and performance improvement of RILAC. The candidate will develop a new technology to stably accelerate and deliver high-intensity beams of various ions, supplied from the world's highest-performance RIKEN 28-GHz superconducting ECR ion source, using the newly installed superconducting linac SRILAC. The candidate is also expected to promote research that takes advantage of RILAC's high performance from a technical perspective, in collaboration with other teams in the center. Furthermore, the candidate will contribute to the accelerator-related communities by reporting advanced technologies developed here, and by conducting research and development of more high-performance accelerators through domestic/international collaboration. The candidate will also strive to develop human resources in the team through the research activities described above.

[Rights and Responsibilities]
・Required to participate in RIKEN management activities in addition to conducting the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of RILAC described above as a Team Leader.
・Eligible to apply for competitive funding from within and outside RIKEN.
・Eligible to host indefinite-term researchers, fixed-term researchers, Special Postdoctoral Researchers and Junior Research Associates.
・Eligible to apply for the purchase of commodities and research funds.
・Responsible for overseeing laboratory members, managing the laboratory budget and handling the maintenance and use of all laboratory equipment and instruments.

Applicants should have outstanding achievements in the research, development and operation of accelerators. The candidate should conduct research and development to improve the performance of above-noted RILAC in collaboration with related sections/teams in RIKEN and relevant research communities.
The candidate should possess a doctoral degree or equivalent achievements in the relevant research fields.
