[Description of the institution ]
At the Department of Vector Ecology and Environment, Institute of Tropical Medicine, Nagasaki University, we are conducting multifaceted research on the causes and control methods of vector-borne diseases, especially through basic research on pathogen-borne animals and analysis of their environment. Our research covers a wide range of topics, from molecular genetics (population genetic analysis and phylogenetic analysis) to ecology, especially for malaria and dengue virus vector mosquitoes. In the field of vector control, we aim to establish environmentally harmonious strategies.
Our department is conducting research on emerging and reemerging infectious diseases in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam under the AMED (Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development) program. We are looking for a researcher who will be stationed at the Nagasaki University Vietnam Research Station in Hanoi to promote research on vector ecology.

[Job description]
We are currently recruiting a young researcher to work as an Assistant Professor in the AMED Program "Study on Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases in Vietnam" at the Nagasaki University Vietnam Research Station in the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE), Hanoi, Vietnam.

The appointee will support both domestic and international collaborators at the center, collaborate with our staffs on infectious disease vector mosquitoes, and conduct his/her own research projects. Therefore, in the selection process, emphasis will be placed on communication skills and experience in molecular genetic analysis or vector competence assessment required for collaborative research.
