Kyushu University is seeking an experienced individual with expertise in teaching and research for appointment as a tenured Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Food Process Engineering, Division of Food Science and Biotechnology, Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture.
The goal of the Division of Food Science and Biotechnology is to systematically train superior researcher with a deep understanding and high insight on the food function at the molecular, cellular, and model animal levels, dynamic analysis and reaction control of functional factors, analysis and development of novel food processing, manufacturing and sterilization systems, development of measurement technology for processing and quality by biological devices, and molecular and biological technologies ensuring and improving the safety, wholesomeness and soundness of food. The division systematically organizes each subject from the perspective of the basic, advanced and practical sciences, and undertakes multilayered education under the assignment and collaboration of each research field within the major and under the supervision teacher system.
The laboratory of Food Process Engineering deals with education and research concerning on the change in quality accompanying the processing of food and its mechanism, and development of new processing technology for food.
The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
1.Development and application of processing technology for the production of high-quality foods
2.Development and application of quality evaluation technology related to food manufacturing

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following subjects and supervise research activities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Japanese, with some of the teaching and supervision done in English.

(5) Days off: Every Saturday and Sunday, national holidays, and New Year's holidays from December 29-January 3 in addition to an annual leave entitlement.
