Faculty section: Faculty of Engineering Sciences (FES), Kyushu University.
The successful candidate will belong to one of the below three departments of FES appropriate for her expertise.
(1) Department of Advanced Materials Science and Engineering
(2) Department of Advanced Energy Science and Engineering
(3) Department of Advanced Environmental Science and Engineering
Note that all professors who belong to FES commit themselves to educational duties at Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Engineering Sciences (IGSES) and School of Engineering (SE).

Research field:
IGSES is promoting cutting-edge research in the fields, namely materials, energy, and the environment. In this open call for participants, we seek an excellent researcher who is active in these academic fields and/or relevant interdisciplinary fields.

IGSES targets scholars that have prominent research achievements in their field of expertise, a strong desire to explore new research frontiers, and a willingness to actively collaborate with researchers within the department, the university, and international level.

Educational activities:
The successful candidate will be required to lecture at IGSES for graduate students and SE and KIKAN education for undergraduate students. The candidate will also be required to supervise both Japanese and non-Japanese students in the bachelor, masters and doctoral courses.

Date of appointment: The earliest possible date after the hiring decision.

Compensation

The annual salary system, which is introduced on 1st April 2020, will be applied. The annual salary is determined under the university's pay scale based on experience, etc.

Application documents:
Prepare the following documents from (1) to (8), compile them into a single PDF file, and submit it by online to the designated URL.

(1) Curriculum vitae (CV): CV should contain the following information; photograph, educational record, professional record, membership of academic societies, degree, and licentiate. If not a native Japanese speaker, it is required to mention the Japanese language proficiency.
(2) List of works: the applicant's research activities must be classified into the following seven categories:
i) Peer-reviewed first- or corresponding-
author journal papers;
ii) Peer-reviewed non-first- and non-
corresponding-author journal papers;
iii) Non-peer reviewed journal papers;
iv) Conference proceedings;
v) Review articles;
vi) Books;
vii) Patents;
viii) Others; invited lectures, prizes and
awards, and other matters
As for i), ii) and iii), the following
information must be shown: all the authors'
names listed in the order as printed in the
article; article title; journal name; volume;
pages; and publication year.
(3) Reprints of up to five representative papers.
These representative papers should be marked in (2) List of works.
(4) Essay on research experience and future plan, described in 2 pages of A4 with/ without visuals.
(5) Essay on educational experience and future plan, described in 2 pages of A4 with/ without visuals.
(6) List of obtained funds: JSPS/MEXT KAKENHI, other funds of joint research and contract research, in which the applicant's role, a principal investigator or a collaborative investigator, must be listed.
(7) Two reference persons: name, title, affiliation, and contact information (e-mail) must be shown.
