[Description of the institution]
Kyushu University is seeking an experienced individual with expertise in teaching and research for appointment as a tenured Professor in the Laboratory of Agricultural Machinery and Production Systems Design, Division of Bioproduction Environmental Sciences, Department of Agro-environmental Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture.
The laboratory of Agricultural Machinery and Production Systems Design is engaged in education and research focusing on designing and developing sustainable and stable food production technologies and supporting their social implementation, specifically for development of theoretical systems and solutions for mechanization, automation, and systemization of agricultural production; development of technologies for measurement, evaluation, and advanced use of information on the environment and plant growth in agricultural production; and development of smart agricultural technologies based on information and communication technologies and data science.

[Job description]
Research Duties:
Candidates are expected to have responsibility to have expertise in the following scientific fields:
1) Development of theories and the specific solutions contributing advancement of mechanical and system design of machineries and facilities for agricultural production.
2) Development and advanced utilization of measurement and visualization technologies for environmental and plant growth information in agricultural production.
3) Development of sustainable agricultural production systems based on information communication technology and data science.

Educational Duties:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following subjects and supervise research activities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in Japanese, with some of the teaching and supervision done in English. Most of the courses are given by multiple professors.

Professor (tenured): Full-time, with a mandatory retirement age of 65.
2) Salary and Benefits
