Background of the recruitment and description of the project
AI Computing Research Unit at Institute of Integrated Research is looking for a prospective researcher willing to conduct AI algorithm, architecture, and/or hardware research collaborative research with the unit members.

【Area of Specialization】
1) AI algorithms such as deep learning and machine learning, 2) Computer architectures such as processor architecture, domain-specific architecture and in-memory computing, 3) Integrated circuit designs including reconfigurable hardware, energy efficient CMOS circuits, etc.
The one who takes the position will belong to AI computing research unit and is expected to conduct software-hardware collaborative research, in close collaboration with professors Masato Motomura and Daichi Fujiki.
The one who takes the position will be assigned to teaching and supervisory duties of the students belonging to the AI computing research unit, and will be responsible for lectures, exercises and experiments for undergraduate and graduate students related to information and communications.

Annual Salary : 4 million yen ~ 6 million yen
The one who takes the position will be paid under the “Annual Salary System with Lump-Sum Retirement Allowance” pursuant to the Institute’s Regulations on Wage and Salary for Staff under Annual Salary System with Lump-Sum Retirement Allowance. In accordance with the regulations, the amount of annual salary will be determined based on the standard level for the first fiscal year of employment, and will be based on performance evaluations in subsequent years. A retirement allowance will be paid separately at the time of retirement.

Assistant professor hired immediately after completing a doctoral degree
Standard: JPY 5,000,000
Minimum*: JPY 4,800,000
Maximum*: JPY 5,600,000
