Job description

    We have been developing federated learning AI models for medical image diagnosis. We are seeking a research staff (Post Doc.) to lead the above research.

  • Work content and job description

    A research position at a postdoctoral researcher level is available for a highly motivated individual who wants to develop and/or advance his/her academic career in the field of deep learning in biomedical imaging. We are seeking a researcher who can use his/her knowledge on artificial intelligence, machine learning (including deep learning) and image processing for the following areas:
    ・Development of an AI-assisted image diagnosis system for detection, segmentation, and classification of lesions in medical images by improving and applying deep learning models.
    ・Development of a federated learning methodology to build a AI-assisted image diagnosis system by training local AI models within hospitals without transferring patient data offsite and aggregating the AI models at a central server.

Wages

    The applicant's salary will be determined in accordance with the Institute’s Employment Regulations for Fixed-Term Staff.

Working hours

    Break time :12:15-13:15

    Holidays : Suterday, Sunday, National Hollydays and December 29 - Janurary 3.

    Overtime and other explanations : De facto working hours* under the discretionary labor system:
    7 hours 45 minutes per day (38 hours 45 minutes per week)

Qualifications

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in computer science/engineering, biomedical engineering or a similar discipline.

  • Work experience

    The successful candidate should be able to perform the research described in the Job Description.

Contract period

  • Nontenured - Non-tenure track

    The contract will end on March 31, 2027.
    The contract may be extended. However, it may not be extended beyond March 31, 2028.
    The employment period is subject to Article 7 of the Institute’s Employment Regulations for Fixed-Term Staff.

    Probationary period present

    Probationary Period: 14 days. The probationary period is subject to Article 12 of the Institute’s Employment Regulations for Fixed-Term Staff.
