The Department of English at Seijo University is seeking to recruit a full-time faculty member in an English-related field at the professor, associate professor, or lecturer level.

Courses to be taught: for the academic year starting April 2027, the new faculty member will teach at least 5 classes each semester. The courses to be taught include English language courses for Faculty of Arts and Literature students as well as specialized English courses for English majors.
Work responsibilities: coordination and management of Faculty of Arts and Literature English language courses and instructors; curricular research and development; student advising; entrance examination-related duties; committee work as requested by the chair of the department or the dean; participation in meetings.

Ph.D. / Doctor / Master
A master’s degree or higher in an English-related field is required. A Ph.D. is preferred.
業務における経験
Teaching experience at the university level is required.

Native English-level proficiency is required.
Sufficient Japanese proficiency (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test [JLPT] N1 or higher) to perform administrative duties in Japanese is required since meetings related to faculty and university operations, such as faculty meetings, are conducted in Japanese.

3.English Communication IIIa course syllabus
Design a syllabus for English Communication IIIa. Students in years 2~4 can take this semester-long class which is required for students who wish to earn a teaching certificate. It meets 15 times for 90 minutes each. Students earn 1 credit.
4.Research overview
Provide an overview of your research so far and how you plan to develop it in the near future in 700-1000 words.
5.Teaching philosophy
Introduce your teaching philosophy and suggest what kind of English language program might suit the Faculty of Arts and Literature at Seijo in 700-1000 words.
6.A photocopy of your highest English-related academic diploma

選考・結果通知
選考内容
The search committee will read the applications and select finalists for the position who will be invited for interviews in July. The finalists will be asked to prepare a mock lesson in addition to their interview. Details about the interview and the mock lesson will be sent to finalists about two weeks before the interview dates.
Finalists must cover their own travel expenses (transportation, hotel).
