Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Division of Human Centric Information Processing, Medical Devices and Materials Engineering Section, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in Health Systems, Okayama University is seeking individuals who can play central roles in research and education in information engineering, including Speech Processing, Spoken Language Processing, Acoustic Signal Processing, Natural Language Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Lifelogging, and Human-Computer Interface, with the aim of achieving the rich human life required to realize a wellbeing society and Society 5.0. We also look forward to the promotion of research in medical-engineering collaboration.

  • Work content and job description

    (1)Education and research at the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering in Health Systems: Each of the successful applicants is expected to conduct his/her own research and assist supervision of graduate students in both master’s and doctoral courses in their research.
    (2)Education and research at the Graduate School of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology: Each of the successful applicants is expected to conduct his/her own research and assist supervision of graduate students in both master’s and doctoral courses in their research.
    (3)Education at School of Engineering (Information Technology course, Information Technology Advanced Track): Each of the successful applicants is expected to teach laboratory courses on computer science and assist supervision of undergraduate students in their research.

Wages

  • Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~ 7 million yen

    Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Assistant Professor 5,802,000-6,708,000yen, *Only for a person with PhD
    The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
    The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1) , and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
    As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.

Working hours

  • Working hours :08:30-17:30

    Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)

    Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)

    Tenure screening
