    Department of Advanced Mechanics, Faculty of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University is inviting applications for a position of Assistant Professor. Possible candidates are detailed below.
    The candidate is expected to have demonstrated expertise, substantial experience, and a strong record of achievements in advanced measurement techniques, high-fidelity numerical simulations, or advanced analytical methods employing machine learning or information theory in the fields of fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, and propulsion engineering.

    A candidate should have high ability and enthusiasm for education and research in the fields of mechanical engineering.

  • Work content and job description

    The position involves teaching advanced mechanics experiments and other lectures at the School of Engineering. The successful candidate will also assist with graduate research and provide instruction in research methods to master's and doctoral students. Depending on their expertise, they may also be required to teach liberal arts education courses and specialized education courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. They will also assist with duties related to the administration and operation of the university.

Wages

  • Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~ 7 million yen

    Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Assistant Professor 5,802,000-6,708,000yen, *Only for a person with PhD
    Salary: An annual salary system is applied. The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
    The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1), and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
    As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.

Working hours

  • Working hours :08:30-17:30

    Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)

    Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)
