Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Department of Intelligent Mechanical Systems, Faculty of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University is inviting applications for a position of Associate Professor. Possible candidates are detailed below.

    We are seeking individuals with outstanding achievements in elemental technologies such as actuators and sensors that form the basis of intelligent mechanical systems, and their system integration, who can drive research that can lead in fields such as extreme environment mechatronics, advanced measurement systems, advanced production systems, cyber-physical systems, and advanced healthcare and medical welfare systems. Related areas include actuators and sensors, soft mechanisms, micromachines, microreactors, and MEMS.

  • Work content and job description

    The position involves lectures on basic and applied subjects at the School of Engineering. The incumbent will also direct with graduate research and lead research methods to master and doctor students. Depending on their expertise, they may also be required to teach liberal arts education courses and specialized education courses for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Wages

  • Annual Salary : 7 million yen ~ 9 million yen

    Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary: Associate Professor 7,058,000 yen～8,246,000 yen,
    An annual salary system is applied.
    The amount of salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, licenses and qualifications, work experience, etc. according to the National University Corporation Okayama University annual salary application staff salary rules.
    As allowances, those eligible will be provided with commuting allowance, dependent allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc.

Working hours

  • Working hours :08:30-17:30

    Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)

    Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)
