    【Area of Expertise】
    Academic fields related to rural village societies and rural/environmental policies.
    【Description of Job】
    (1) Candidates must be able to conduct research and education that bridges the gap between theory and practice related to the realities of rural and fishing villages in Japan and/or abroad, and rural/environmental policies, based on field surveys and practical experience, and possess the ability to disseminate research results internationally.
    (2) Candidates must be able to provide guidance and support for seminars and graduation research to students in the Graduate School of Environmental and Life Sciences and the Faculty of Agriculture in both Japanese and English.
    (3) Candidates can participate in organizational management at Okayama University.

Wages

  • Annual Salary : 4 million yen ~ 7 million yen

    Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Assistant Professor 4,702,000-6.708,000yen
    An annual salary system is applied.
    The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
    The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1) , and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
    As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.

Working hours

  • Working hours :08:30-17:30

    Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)

    Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)

    ・If you are a foreign national, you must have Japanese proficiency sufficient to carry out the work, including experimental practices and supporting research guidance.

    Tenure screening.
