• Description

  (1) Native French speaker or equivalent proficiency in French.
  (2) Hold a doctoral degree at the time of appointment.
  (3) Possess the minimum Japanese language proficiency necessary to perform duties autonomously at this university and demonstrate an understanding of the nature of Japanese universities.
  (4) Have an understanding of the various French languages and cultures of Francophone regions.
  (5) Be able to cooperate in various university projects.
  (6) Have sufficient teaching experience at universities or equivalent institutions.

Selection / Notification of result

• Selection

  After an initial document screening, a second screening (interview, mock class, etc.) will be conducted (scheduled to take place at Tohoku University's Kawauchi Campus during the 2026 academic year. Travel expenses for interviews, etc., are the applicant's responsibility; however, these may be conducted online depending on circumstances. Additionally, for the second screening, applicants may be asked to submit items such as “an overview of research activities to date and aspirations for future research activities,” “aspirations for teaching,” and “a syllabus proposal.”

• Notification of result

  Applicants who pass the initial screening will be contacted regarding the date and time of the secondary screening. All applicants will be notified of the selection results. All communications will be conducted via email.
