  • 募集の背景、プロジェクトの説明

    We invite applications for one position as "Project Assistant Professor" or “Project Researcher” for a project on sociological research on AI (known as the B'AI Global Forum), set up within the Institute for AI and Beyond of the University of Tokyo*.
    This institute, established in 2020, is a collaboration of the University of Tokyo with SoftBank . The successful applicant’s affiliation will be with the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies. For further information about the project, please visit our website.

  • 仕事内容・職務内容

    The project researcher will be involved in executing the mission of the B'AI Global Forum, which is research of norms, ethics and practices for the realization of a gender equal society that guarantees minority rights in the AI era. Specific responsibilities include the following: designing and implementing research projects on AI and society, especially on gender issues; research on surrounding themes; inviting relevant scholars from within and outside Japan; updating and maintaining the project website; building and maintaining research collaboration with related researchers in the field and planning research meetings and symposia; drafting progress reports on research.
    Note the duties will take place not only during the semesters but also during the periods of summer/winter/spring breaks. There are no teaching responsibilities for project researchers. Project assistant professors may have opportunities to teach, though not required.

  • 応募に必要な学歴・学位

    Ph.D. / Doctor / Master

  • 業務における経験

    1) Knowledge on AI or digital information society within the disciplines of humanities or social sciences
    2) Deep insight into gender studies and passion for gender justice
    3) Teaching and research experience in international settings
    4) Fluency in Japanese and English
    5) Doctoral degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Applicants for the project researcher position may still be in the finishing stages of their dissertation writing.)
