    The University of Tsukuba, Institute of Library, Information and Media Science is looking for a professor who will conduct education and research in the field of Museum Informatics.

  • 仕事内容・職務内容

    * The expected research of successful candidate will include research on linking museum materials with library materials and archival materials and apply for historical, cultural, and social applications as well as conducting research activities in collaboration with other institutions.
    * The candidate will be required to perform practical work to "Acceleration of Reorganization of Securing Highly Professional Information Technology Human Resources" at the university.

    * The candidate is expected to teach graduate courses at the Master's Program in Informatics of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, such as "Museum and Information Media," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise graduate students.
    * The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses at the College of Knowledge and Library Sciences, School of Informatics, such as "Museum Informatics," "Knowledge Information Systems lab.," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise undergraduate students.
    * The candidate is required to teach classes at the Master's and Doctoral Program in Informatics in both Japanese and English.
    * Administrative duties include committees, publicity, admission, etc.

給与

  • Annual Salary : 8 million yen ~ 11 million yen

    Working conditions will be determined according to the university regulations
    (About 10,000,000 JPY/Year at the age of 53 in case of working full-time continuously after getting the degree of doctor).

勤務時間

  • Working hours :08:30-17:15

    Break time :12:15-13:15

    Holidays : Every Saturday and Sunday, National holidays, New Year's holiday season (12/29-1/3)

    Overtime and other explanations : Based on agreement, either discretionary labor system for professional work (the working hours for a day are deemed as 7 hours 45 minutes) or fixed working hours system (including variable working hours system) will be applied.

  • 応募に必要な学歴・学位

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field by the time of the appointment

  • 業務における経験

    * Qualifications of a Curator
    * Experience in supervising and leading the following business operations at least 5 cases: (a) museum exhibition, (b) collection development, (c) constrcution of museum database, (d) building a cross-institutional network for promoting joint research
    * At least 2 publications (peer-reviewed academic journals, peer-reviewed proceedings of international conferences, academic books) in the last 5 years (However, even if the publication is five years or eariler, it is possible to include only one case that can be regarded as particularly important.)
    * The enthusiasm to work on education, research university management and "Acceleration of Reorganization of Securing Highly Professional Information Technology Human Resources"; interdisciplinary collaborative research is highly encouraged.
