    The Graduate School of Humanities, Division of Foreign Studies at Osaka University is dedicated to the study of 24 languages as well as the cultures based on those languages. This pursuit is both theoretical and practical in nature with a focus on foreign studies that is founded on comprehensive research and education from the perspectives of various fields in the humanities and social sciences and also through interdisciplinary approaches using high levels of language proficiency.

    The Graduate School of Humanities, Division of Foreign Studies is seeking a scholar who possesses specialized knowledge of these areas and will contribute to strengthen language education at Osaka University. Please see below for the details.

  • 仕事内容・職務内容

    Engage in education and research on Swedish language, literature and culture , which includes teaching classes offered by the Graduate School of Humanities (Division of Foreign Studies major) (herein referred to as “the Graduate School”) and the School of Foreign Studies for 10-12 classes per week (one class lasts 90 minutes).
    Classes are assigned by the Graduate School.
    Candidates will also be expected to engage in other duties required by the Graduate School and the School of Foreign Studies.

    Annual Salary : 6 million yen ~ 7 million yen

    The monthly salary may vary from 519,075 yen (minimum) to 572,000 yen (maximum).

    Ph.D. / Doctor / Master

    Ph.D., M.A. or equivalent certification in Humanities.

  • 説明

    An applicant is deemed qualified if s/he:
    (1)is a native speaker of or possesses native-like language proficiency in Swedish.
    (2) has general knowledge of the cultures and societies where Swedish is spoken.
    (3)has a Ph.D., M.A. or equivalent certification in Swedish language or Swedish literature.
    (4) has an experience of Swedish language teaching for at least one year.

    From the starting date to March 31, 2027. The initial contract may be renewed but not to extend beyond March 31, 2030(*).
    The successful applicant is requested to arrive in Japan and obtain the status of residence by the day before the starting date.
    * If you have work experience as a Limited-term Staff Member, Part-time Lecturer, etc. at Osaka University during the term from October 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025, the limit of extension of your contract period may be altered, in accordance with ‘Regulations Pertaining to Contract Period of National University Corporation Osaka University Fixed-term Staff’.     Others : (1)A commuting allowance will be provided in accordance with the regulation..
    (2) The appointed applicant will be provided with furnished residential facilities equipped with electricity, gas and water services throughout the term of the contract. Please note that the appointed candidate will be responsible for both rent and utility costs.
    (3) Upon assuming the post, the candidate will be provided with a part of relocation expenses.
    (4) Travel expenses to return to their home country and a part of other relocation expenses may be provided in accordance with the regulation.
    (5) Any of dependent allowances, bonuses, or retirement allowance will not be provided.

    Others : The successful candidate will be enrolled in the National Public
    Service Personnel Mutual Aid Associations, Employment Insurance and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance.
