The University of Tsukuba, Institute of Library, Information and Media Science is looking for a specially-appointed assistant professor who will conduct education and research in the field of data engineering.

仕事内容・職務内容
* The expected research of successful candidate will include information access, data management and processing from data engineering perspective. In particular, the candidate is expected to work collaboratively with Prof. Morishima and ASST. Prof. Ito from the FusionCompLab on data-related issues involving human-in-the-loop and AI-in-the-loop such as entity matching, data management, topic extraction, data cleaning, data prediction, and machine learning, based on data engineering approaches.
* The candidate is expected to teach graduate courses at the Master's Program in Informatics of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, such as "Information Access," "Research Foundation in Informatics," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise graduate students.
* The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses at the Media Arts, Science and Technology, School of Informatics, such as "Introduction to Data Engineering," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise undergraduate students.
* The courses are required to teach both in Japanese and English.
* Administrative duties include committees, publicity, admission, etc.

Annual Salary : 6 million yen ~ 7 million yen
Working conditions will be determined according to the university regulations
(About 6,500,000 JPY/Year at the age of 31 in case of working full-time continuously after getting the degree of doctor).

Working hours :08:30-17:15
Break time :12:15-13:15
Holidays : Every Saturday and Sunday, National holidays, New Year's holiday season (12/29-1/3)
Overtime and other explanations : Based on agreement, either discretionary labor system for professional work (the working hours for a day are deemed as 7 hours 45 minutes) or fixed working hours system (including variable working hours system) will be applied.

Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field by the time of the appointment

* Sufficient capability to conduct research in relevant fields
* At least two publications (peer-reviewed academic journal papers, peer-reviewed international conference papers, academic books) in the last 5 years (however, even if the publication is five years or eariler, it is possible to include only one case that can be regarded as particularly important.)
* The enthusiasm to work on education, research and university management; interdisciplinary collaborative research is highly encouraged
