The Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Science (RIIS) comprises three research areas: Quantum Universe, Photosynthesis and Structural Biology, and Superconducting and Functional Materials. RIIS is recruiting one faculty member (Associate Professor, Lecturer, or Assistant Professor) for the Theoretical Physical Chemistry field within the Superconducting and Functional Materials area, affiliated with the Department of Chemistry, School of Science, and concurrently with the Graduate School of Environmental, Life, and Natural Sciences and Technology. Nearly all RIIS faculty are members of the School of Science, and the appointee will contribute to undergraduate education in the Department of Chemistry and graduate education in the corresponding chemistry course at the Graduate School of Environmental, Life, and Natural Sciences and Technology.

仕事内容・職務内容
We are seeking an ambitious researcher to advance the physical chemistry of condensed matter (primarily liquids, fluids, and interfaces). The appointee will collaborate with Professor Kenichiro Koga to manage the Theoretical Physical Chemistry Laboratory. As a member of the Department of Chemistry, School of Science, the faculty member will engage in research and educational activities.

Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~
Annual Salary : Associate Professor 6 million yen ~
Annual Salary : Lecturer, Assistant Professor 5 million yen ~
Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary: Associate Professor 6,758,000-7,980,000 yen
Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary: Lecturer 5,852,000-7,426,000 yen
Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Assistant Professor 5,556,000-6,498,000yen, *Only for a person with PhD
An annual salary system is applied. The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1), and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.

Working hours :08:30-17:30
Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)
Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)
