《Education and research areas, academic units, and faculty composition relevant to the recruitment》
Division of Advanced Horticultural Engineering, for which we are currently recruiting faculty members, conducts research to contribute to realizing a smart society. Utilizing techniques such as data mining and advanced cultivation technologies, we comprehensively handle information from genes to individuals and populations, thereby deeply understanding plants and their growing environments.
The appointed professor will oversee Horticultural Plant Production and Breeding Program.
In undergraduate education, we nurture individuals to solve various challenges humanity faces, including food security, resource management, and environmental sustainability.
In graduate education, we cultivate highly skilled technicians and researchers who contribute to advancing agriculture and horticulture industries through advanced genetic engineering research related to the breeding of horticultural crops and cutting-edge cultivation techniques.

《Human resources sought》
Education: Demonstrated capability to provide advanced education in horticultural plant physiology and cultivation, with an ability to conduct education in English and a keen interest in global education, aiming to establish the Graduate School of Horticulture as an education hub for the horticultural industry.
Research: Ability to drive advanced research, such as phenomics and omics studies, to further elucidate the physiological phenomena of horticultural plants and contribute to developing new cultivation techniques. Candidates should be able to actively engage in global collaborative research with universities and research institutions domestically and internationally. Additionally, they should proactively collaborate with industries and sectors related to horticultural production, advance impactful research, and possess strong communication skills to enhance student and prospective interest in horticultural science.
The main classes will be in Japanese, but some courses will be in English. Moreover, the successful candidate will be expected to be actively involved in other university administrative activities. Female and non-Japanese applicants are welcome to apply.

Annual Salary : 7 million yen ~ 11 million yen
Remuneration will be an annual salary determined in accordance with the university’s remuneration regulations.
勤務時間
Working hours :08:30-17:15
Break time :12:00-13:00
Holidays :
Weekly holidays shall consist of Sundays and Saturdays.
Holidays shall be as listed in the following items:
(i) Holidays as prescribed in the Act on National Holidays (in Japan).
(ii) Days between December 29 and January 3 of the following calendar year (excluding holidays as
specified in the preceding item).
Special leave may also be available in accordance with employment regulations.
Overtime and other explanations :
A discretionary labor system for professional work may be applied to a staff member with concent.
(Deemed to have worked 7 hours and 45 minutes in a day.)
