Graduate School of Humanities and Sociology at the University of Tokyo invites applications for a full-time lecturer position in Japanese Buddhist Studies or Chinese Buddhist Studies.

仕事内容・職務内容
Teaching classes and seminars, as well as supervising the writing of academic papers.
Scope of change: Relocation, concurrent posts, and secondment may be ordered subject to business necessity as a general rule, they will not be ordered against one's will. Details are stipulated in Article 4 of the University of Tokyo Regulations on Conditions of Employment of Academic Staff. -

Annual Salary : 4 million yen ~
Basic Salary will be decided taking your academic background, professional background, etc. into account.
Wage Raise System: Yes
Examples: Doctor / from JPY 340,000

Working hours :09:00-17:30
Break time :12:00-12:45
Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 to January 3)
Overtime and other explanations : Discretionary work system for professional work applies and working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.

応募に必要な学歴・学位
Ph.D. / Doctor
1) Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree or be scheduled to obtain it before the start date of the appointment.

業務における経験
2) Applicants should possess a strong background and extensive experience in the study of Japanese Buddhism or Chinese Buddhism.
3) Proficiency in reading Japanese classical literature or classical Chinese texts is indispensable.
4) Ability to teach lectures and seminars in English is required.
