業務内容

  • 募集の背景、プロジェクトの説明

    The Global Education Center (GEC*) of Waseda University, a long-established private university located in central Tokyo, invites applications for part-time lecturers in Academic English Writing. The successful applicant is expected to teach academic English writing to both Japanese and international students. We particularly welcome applications from those who are enthusiastic about teaching English for academic purposes.

    *The GEC enables integrated learning by providing courses that complement the curriculum in students’ undergraduate faculties (majors). These courses cover diverse areas of study and incorporate a range of learning styles.

  • 仕事内容・職務内容

    1. Teaching English classes* at the GEC (1 or 2 classes per week, i.e. a total of 14 or 28 lessons per quarter)
    *1 class period is 100 minutes
    2. Actively engaging in faculty development programs and communicating with university colleagues on the development of English programs at the GEC

給与

  • Wage per class Amount : 37070 yen ~

    Age 49 and below, ¥37,070 per 100-minute period taught per month (AY 2024 monthly amount)
    Age 50 and above, ¥39,620 per 100-minute period taught per month (AY 2024 monthly amount)

    Note:
    1) Salaries are based on a lecturer’s age as of 1 April.
    2) If revisions are made to lecturer salaries, the amounts indicated above may change.

勤務時間

  • Working hours :10:40-14:50

    Break time :12:20-13:10

    Overtime and other explanations : The working hours above are an example.

募集要項

応募資格

  • 応募に必要な学歴・学位

    Ph.D. / Doctor / Master

    Candidates should have the degree of PhD [ABD also acceptable] (in which case the research field is open) or MA (in the field of TESL/TESOL or related fields only).

  • 業務における経験

    Candidates should have at least one year’s experience teaching English at university level.

  • 説明

    Candidates should have
    1. demonstrable experience in teaching academic writing in English where the curriculum and assessments were standardized. Alternatively, candidates should have an understanding of academic writing and the aspects of course standardization,
    2. an understanding of and experience with LMS technology, preferably Moodle, and
    3. sufficient competence in Japanese to conduct administrative procedures or should have the regular availability of assistance for this purpose.
