• Wage per class Amount : 10000 yen ~ 12000 yen

  The salary will be about 25,000 to 30,000 yen per month. Depending on experience and qualifications of thesuccessful applicant, the total will range from ¥150,000 to ¥180,000). This will be payable for six months, although teaching will only last about four months.

  Ph.D. / Doctor

  A PhD in a relevant field such as Economics or Chinese Studies is strongly preferred. Previous university-level teaching experience is preferred but not essential. (Well-advanced doctoral candidates will also be considered, provided the applicant has an MA/MS degree and three years of teaching experience.)

  Transportation expenses : Travel expenses will be paid for a distance of up to 110 kilometers from the Yokohama campus in Totsuka. Please note that classes are scheduled to be held in person, not online, so there is no point applying if you live outside the Kantō district of Japan.

  Smoking is prohibited throughout the campus except in two specified areas well away from the main teaching and research areas, so there is no risk of second-hand smoking to non-smokers.

  This posting is for an adjunct lecturer to teach Chinese Economy in the Dept. of Global and Transcultural Studies during the academic year 2025. The course can include topics such as China’s economic history, the country’s industrial and growth model, the private sector, China’s trade ties with other countries and other recent economic events in China.
