募集の背景、プロジェクトの説明
Shinaoka's group aims to develop dimensionality reduction techniques (such as tensor networks) for quantum field theories. The expanding data size of correlation functions limits cutting-edge many-body calculations based on Green’s functions, including non-local extensions of dynamical mean-field theories (DMFT), non-equilibrium dynamics simulations via DMFT, and various ab initio approaches using diagrammatic methods. Our goal is to compress these data and push beyond current state-of-the-art calculations.

仕事内容・職務内容
Applicants are encouraged to propose their own research themes. The successful candidate will focus on developing dimensionality reduction techniques, including tensor cross interpolation, quantics tensor trains, and sparse modeling, with applications to realistic systems.
We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and expertise in numerical methods, such as dynamical mean-field theory and diagrammatic ab initio calculations. There are no teaching responsibilities associated with this position.
The following two grants support the position:
• Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas B "Computational materials science based on quantum-classical hybrid algorithms" (Head PI: Prof. Shinaoka, FY2023-2025, Co-PI: Dr. R. Akashi, Prof. A. Hariki, Prof. M. Kitatani, Dr. Miyake)
• JST FOREST program "Development of first-principles methods based on quantum embedding theories at the two-particle level" (PI: Prof. Shinaoka, FY2024-2026) -

Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~ 6 million yen

Working hours :08:30-17:15
Break time :12:15-13:15
Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays (excluding designated working days to ensure the required number of class days), substitute days for holiday work, and year-end/New Year holidays (December 28 to January 3).
Overtime and other explanations : The position is subject to a discretionary labor system based on a standard of 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. The “Regulations on Working Hours, Leave, etc. for Faculty and Staff of Saitama University” will be applied mutatis mutandis.
