The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, a public interest incorporated foundation, recognizes that cultivating Japanese researchers in Taiwan plays an important role in strengthening Taiwan-Japan relations and deepening Taiwan's academic field, and provides financial support to accepted research institutions who have signed a memorandum with the association to appoint Japanese studies as a professional field. Emerging researchers engage in research activities. Postdoctoral researchers who provide financial support from this association are called "Japanese Studies Postdoctoral Fellows".

仕事内容・職務内容
1、Service conditions:
a.Participate in at least one relevant academic activity organized by the Department of History at National Chengchi University or the Institute of Taiwan History.
b.Participate in Taiwan-Japan exchange activities at the Department of History at National Chengchi University or the Institute of Taiwan History.
2、Obligations and compliance matters
Anyone who is appointed as a postdoctoral researcher in Japan studies by the accepting research institution must comply with the following obligations. If the compliance matters are violated, the accepting research institution may terminate the appointment and demand compensation for damages.
(1) Obligation to focus on research
① Focus on research, and are not allowed to engage in other business activities within the university except research, except for part of teaching activities.
② Actively engage in research according to the research plan.
③In principle, the research topic and research plan are not allowed to be changed, except when the research plan needs to be changed due to the research progress.
④Conduct research and presentation at least once a year in societies or workshops.
(2) Obligation to submit a report
① For new admissions and continued appointments, a detailed research plan must be submitted in addition to the application form.
② Submit the report within the period specified by the association.
Submit a "research report" three months before the expiration of the annual contract
③Other submission documents should be submitted within the time limit specified by the association.
(3) Obligations to assist the Association
①Japanese studies postdoctoral fellows should actively participate in and assist in activities organized by the association while employed at the receiving research institution.
② After the expiration of the employment period at the research institution, the applicant should still actively assist in various activities implemented by the association (questionnaire surveys, -

Interview review
After written review, several candidates will be selected for interview review. The interview location for those who live in Taiwan will be at the Taipei office of the association.

選考内容
(1) Review method
After written review by the Association and the accepting research institution, the Association will entrust external experts to conduct interviews to determine the final candidates.
(2)Examination standards
The main review criteria are as follows:
① Take Japan as the research object.
② Show the background of your research topic and its superior intention.
③ The research method should be original and can demonstrate the future development of the research topic.
④ It is highly expected to become an outstanding researcher in the academic community in the future.
⑤ Those who do not simply continue research in the doctoral program, but have clear motivations for improving their own research capabilities.
(3) Interview review
After written review, several candidates will be selected for interview review. The interview location for those who live in Taiwan will be at the Taipei office of the association.

(4) Result notification
The final review results will be notified by the accepting research institution via email in early March 2025. -
