    The Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research (ISEE) at Nagoya University seeks a designated assistant professor for cross-disciplinary research into the dynamics of the magnetosphere at Earth and Mercury, in particular transport and energization processes associated with magnetotail reconnection based on analysis of spacecraft data including Arase (ERG) and BepiColombo missions, for which ISEE operates
    the Mission Science Centers (Center for Heliospheric Science) in cooperation with JAXA/ISAS, combined with related missions such as MMS, THEMIS and SMILE missions and ground-based measurements. The successful candidate may have a background in space-plasma physics, magnetospheric physics, and magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling and experience in data analysis of space-based data. A good command of English, or of Japanese plus fair English, is required.

  • 仕事内容・職務内容

    The designated assistant professor will be under the guidance of Prof. Yoshizumi Miyoshi (ISEE) and Prof. Rumi Nakamura (Space Research Institute, Austrian Academy of Science, also a Designated Professor at ISEE). The project centers on understanding the multi-scale coupling process of the magnetic reconnection and the reconnection jet interaction with the inner magnetosphere by investigating the nightside magnetosphere at Earth and Mercury.
    (Scope of changes): Tasks specified by the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System.

  • Annual Salary : 4 million yen ~ 5 million yen

    Approx. 400,000JPY/month

勤務時間

  • Working hours :08:30-17:15

    Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and New Year's holidays from December 29th to January 3rd.

    Overtime and other explanations : Under the professional duties-type discretionary labor system, the employee is considered to have worked 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
