  Akita International University (AIU), located in Akita, Japan, is seeking a qualified applicant to work as a key member of the writing team in the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. The successful candidate will be appointed at the assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor level. This is a tenure-track position with an expected start date of April 1, 2026 (negotiable).

• 2025/07/09~2025/08/31 Deadline for receipt

  Applications should be submitted by the August 31st 2025 (JST) deadline. After an initial screening of the submitted documents, selected candidates will be asked to provide a short 1-2 minute self-recorded video (using Zoom or a similar platform). In this video, applicants should briefly outline (a) their motivation for applying and (b) why they believe they are a strong candidate for the position. Candidates who advance beyond this stage will be contacted for an initial interview via Zoom. Final shortlisted candidates will be invited, at the university’s expense, to give an in-person class demonstration, a research presentation, and attend a final in-person interview on the AIU campus. International applicants are encouraged to apply.
