  Salary will be approximately:
  <45-year-old full professor>10.00 million 〜
  <40-year-old associate professor> 8.70 million 〜
  <35-year-old assistant professor> 7.40 million 〜

  1. Ph.D., or equivalent
  2. At least three years of teaching experience at the university level.
  3. Native English speaker proficiency, or equivalent, of any nationality, with native or near-native fluency in both spoken and written Japanese to undertake administrative duties at Doshisha University.
  4. Prepared and willing to undertake, in addition to teaching designated subjects, administrative duties at the Institute for the Liberal Arts including management, international exchange and cooperation, admissions work, student affairs, and student recruitment.
  5. Residing or prepared to reside in the Kinki region.

  1. Curriculum Vitae and a list of academic publications (must be in the Doshisha University format available in the downloadable Word document in link above)
  2. Electronic versions (PDF file) of three academic publications, including a synopsis of each publication (approx. 200 words, A4 size, PDF file).
  If it is not possible to send an electronic version, please send three copies each of the original printed publication, including books, by postal mail.
  3. Three syllabi for elective courses offered in the Japanese Politics and Global Studies Concentration (from the curriculum on the website, choose one course each at the Introductory, Intermediate, and Advanced levels).
  4. Contact information for two referees (letters of reference will be requested from referees for short-listed candidates only).
