Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Tokyo Tech will create a new professor or associate professor position exclusively for female candidates at each of its eight Schools and Institutes. This measure has been adopted to promote improvement in the significantly low ratio of female faculty members as part of our commitment to “positive action” under Article 8 of the Act on Securing, Etc. of Equal Opportunity and Treatment between Men and Women in Employment (Equal Employment Opportunity Act).

  • Work content and job description

    (1) The successful applicant will be required to carry out lectures / practices / practical training of the above specialized fields taught in Japanese for undergraduate students and those taught in English for graduate students..
    (2) The successful applicant will be required to engage, instruct, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student research.
    (3) The successful applicant will proceed the above specialized research as PI.
    (4) The successful applicant will work on operations necessary for the management of institute, school, department, etc.

    Annual Salary : 8 million yen ~

    The successful candidate will be paid under the “Annual Salary System with Lump-Sum Retirement Allowance” pursuant to the Institute’s Regulations on Wage and Salary for Staff under Annual Salary System with Lump-Sum Retirement Allowance. In accordance with the regulations, the amount of annual salary will be determined based on the standard level for the first fiscal year of employment, and will be based on performance evaluations in subsequent years. A retirement allowance will be paid separately at the time of retirement.
    ●Annual salary examples (The amounts listed below are only examples provided in the regulations and do not directly refer to this specific position.)
    ・Professor who has 15 years of work experience after completing a doctoral degree.
    Standard: JPY 9,400,000
    Minimum*: JPY 8,600,000
    Maximum*: JPY 10,700,000
    *The minimum and maximum amounts will vary depending on performance.

  • Associate Professor

    Annual Salary : 7 million yen ~
