Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability, Nagoya University invites applications for Professor in order to develop the research activities at Division of Systems Research. The institute has been certified as a "Joint Usage/Research Center of energy-friendly and sustainable energy-saving and energy-creating materials and systems research" by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and it is aimed at realizing the development of environment-friendly and sustainable energy-saving and energy-creating technologies. To promote the research activities, Division of Systems Research aims to develop key technologies contributing to sustainable and ecological society, such as advanced energy conversion, transmission, and utilization technologies, energy and environmental impact assessment methods from various points of view, and material conversions and circulation. For the effective use of these technologies, the division also carries out leading- edge researches on urban traffic management system and information security, etc.

We are seeking particularly talented researchers who can promote advanced research on environmental engineering/environmental systems engineering in the field of civil engineering, and lead the large-scale research projects with national and international collaborating researchers, as well as proactively lead the development of human resources in the field.

(3)Keeping the own specialized research field as core, able to carry out collaborative research projects within the institute and with other researchers
(4)Able to proactively commit the administration of Division of Systems Research and the institute
(5)Able to teach classes related to Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture at undergraduate level and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at graduate level including sanitary engineering, and supervise graduation thesis research, master’s thesis research, and doctoral thesis research at the department
(6)Able to teach classes and supervise the thesis research in English at graduate level
