Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    The Laboratory of Mathematical Biology, Graduate School of Advanced Biosciences, Hokkaido University, conducts interdisciplinary research projects in many fields, incorporating data science methods and applying them to medical, engineering and agricultural sciences related to life phenomena. This term, we are looking for an individual to focus on analysis of marine phytoplankton communities and dominant environmental factors, and modelling and prediction of marine phytoplankton community dynamics.

Wages

  • Annual Salary : 3 million yen ~ 5 million yen

    The salary will be determined in accordance with the university's regulations.

Working hours

  • Working hours :08:30-17:00

    Break time :12:00-12:45

    Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays provided for in the National Holidays Act, days from December 29th until January 3rd of the following year, other days determined by the University

    Overtime and other explanations : Discretionary labor system for professional work. *The working hours for a day is deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes.

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    (1) Ph.D.
    (2) The candidate must hold a doctoral degree, or an equivalent degree, such as a PhD from overseas universities, which has been conferred or will be conferred prior to their arrival at the post.

  • Work experience

    (1)Those who are willing to challenge the development of new interdisciplinary fields by using mathematical and information science methodologies in life science research.
    (2)Those who can actively collaborate with researchers in a wide range of life and environmental science fields, such as molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology and ecology.
    (3)Those with an experience of working in corporate companies at research and development divisions are also welcome.
