    The University of Tsukuba, Institute of Library, Information and Media Science is looking for an associate or assistant professor who will conduct education and research in the field of Behavioral Economics.

  • Work content and job description

    * The expected research of successful candidate will include studies focusing on the relationships between information media and economic behavior in Behavioral Economics, which analyzes real-world human behavior arising from their psychological aspects.
    * The candidate will be required to perform practical work to "Acceleration of Reorganization of Securing Highly Professional Information Technology Human Resources" at the university.
    * The candidate is expected to teach graduate courses at the Master's Program in Informatics of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, such as "Behavioral Economics," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise graduate students.
    * The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses at the College of Media Arts, Science and Technology, School of Informatics, such as "Behavioral Economics," related research seminar courses, as well as linear algebra and calculus in basic college level, etc., and to supervise undergraduate students.
    * The candidate is required to teach classes in both Japanese and English.
    * Administrative duties include committees, publicity, admission, etc.

    Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field by the time of the appointment

  • Work experience

    * Sufficient capability to conduct research in relevant fields
    * At least two publications for the assistant level and five for the associate level (peer-reviewed academic journals, peer-reviewed proceedings of international conferences, academic books) in the last 5 years (Still, you may include one older but significant paper in your career.)
    * The enthusiasm to work on education, research, university management, and "Acceleration of Reorganization of Securing Highly Professional Information Technology Human Resources"; interdisciplinary collaborative research is highly encouraged.
