  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    The Graduate School of International Resource Sciences, Akita University, is seeking candidates for the Professor of Natural Resource Management, Water Management, or Environmental Analysis.

  • Work content and job description

    The duties for this position include:
    A)Provide education and research guidance mainly related to Natural Resource Management, Social Research Methods, Resource Development with Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Studies on Resource Area, Resource Sciences Fieldwork Abroad, and Graduate Thesis in the Department of Resource Policy and Management in the Faculty of International Resource Sciences and the Graduate School of International Resource Sciences.
    B)Guiding and assisting students in academic matters, including advising students about Resource Sciences Fieldwork Abroad, a mandatory three-week practical program. In combination with courses taken before departing and after returning to Akita, this program prepares students for an independent graduation research project that they undertake in the fourth and final year.
    C)Other university administrative duties, including entrance exam preparation, administration, and various university committees, among other duties as required.
    D)Perform duties necessary for the planning, developing, and operating of the English curriculum of the Faculty of International Resource Sciences.

    [Minimum requirements] Candidates should:
    Candidates should possess the following:
    1) Ph.D.
    2) Sufficient teaching achievements to give graduate school-level lectures in English.
    3) Sufficient research achievements to receive outside funding, such as Kakenhi.
    4) Have experience as a program coordinator of the English curriculum at the tertiary level.
    5)If Japanese is not the native language, the candidate should be able to communicate in Japanese.
    6) Be able to live in Akita City or its suburbs after assuming the position.
