Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Principle Professor at Toyota Technological Institute (hereafter abbreviated as TTI) plays a leading role in further enhancing and developing education and research in the doctoral program of the Graduate School of Engineering, and is given special treatment in terms of research with the mission of pursuing excellence in research and fostering talented individuals in the doctoral program.
TTI invites applications for the position of Principle Professor in the following areas for the further development of the graduate school. The Principle Professor will also participate in education and research in the undergraduate and master's programs.

<Responsibilities of the Principal Professor>
1. Promotion of academic research activities and distribution of research results as a front-runner in the specialized field.
2. Research guidance and training of graduate students, especially doctoral students.
3. Practical developmental research and social contribution through industry-government-academia collaboration.
4. Participation in university administration and contribution to university development through various internal committee activities, etc.
<Description of duties, etc>
1.Research in Quantum information, Quantum measurement and related fields
For example, Quantum computers, Large-scale quantum computation, Practical qubit generation, Quantum information communication and processing, Quantum dot and superconductor-based quantum state control, Quantum fusion devices, Highly sensitive sensor devices, Quantum optics, etc.
2. Candidates must have a PhD degree and have outstanding research achievements and capabilities in the above research fields, and are expected to achieve significant results in the future.
Must be able to teach specialized subjects and basic subjects such as Physics and Mathematics at undergraduate and graduate schools related to the above research fields, as well as supervise and teach student experiments.
3. Other duties related to student education, guidance, and university administration (entrance examinations, high school-university cooperation, committees, etc.)

Annual Salary : 11 million yen ~
The above figures represent a reference point for the starting salary of a Principle Professor, with an estimated range of up to approximately 15 million yen. The annual salary will be determined and paid monthly based on the candidate’s experience and in accordance with our university’s regulations at the time of employment.

1. Qualifications: Possess a doctoral degree and have outstanding research achievements and capabilities in the following research fields, with highly promising future research outcomes:
Research in Quantum information, Quantum measurement, and related fields, such as Quantum computers, Large-scale quantum operations, Practical qubit generation, Quantum information communication/Processing, quantum state control using quantum dots and superconductors, Quantum fusion devices, High-sensitivity sensor elements, Quantum optics, etc.
2. Educational Responsibilities: Capable of teaching specialized courses related to the above research fields at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as foundational courses such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and supervising and educating students in laboratory experiments.

1. Personnel composition of the Principle Professor's laboratory (one of the following)
(1) 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor or Lecturer, and 3 PD Researchers
(2) 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor or Lecturer, 1 Assistant Professor, 1 PD Researcher
(3) 1 Professor, 1 Assistant Professor, 3 PD Researchers
2. Research Support System
Support for setting up a laboratory (at the time of appointment)
Principle Professor; 100 million yen
Annual laboratory ordinary research expenses and student education expenses
Principle Professor; Approx. 10 million yen
(*Depends on the number of students assigned to the laboratory and the composition of the unit)
3. Possible to apply for intramural competitive funds (100 million yen/year for the university as a whole)
4. Performance evaluation will be conducted in the sixth year after employment (if the evaluation shows that the appointment cannot be continued, the candidate will be treated as a regular professor), and performance evaluation will be conducted every five years after that.
5. An allowance for the Principle Professor in charge is paid separately from the main salary.
6. May work until a maximum of 72 years of age. However, if he/she continues to work after the retirement age (65 years old), he/she will work as a Specially Appointed Professor with the same treatment as before the retirement age.
