Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The University of Tsukuba, Institute of Library, Information and Media Science is looking for an assistant professor who will conduct education and research in the field of Information Systems.
Work content and job description
* We are seeking a researcher who is collaborating internationally in the fields of information systems, e.g., computer-aided problem solving. A successful candidate is required to have excellent proficiency in English (written and verbal), as we expect to teach courses in English, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
* The successful candidate is expected to teach graduate courses at the Master's Program in Informatics of the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, such as "Research Foundation," "Literature Survey," "Survey and Data Analysis," related research seminar courses, etc., and to supervise graduate students.
* The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses at the College of Knowledge and Library Sciences, School of Informatics, such as "English for Specialized Subjects," "Knowledge Information Systems Lab.," other specialized subject courses, etc., and to supervise undergraduate students.
* Administrative duties include committees, publicity, admission, etc.

Working hours
Working hours :08:30-17:15
Break time :12:15-13:15
Holidays : Every Saturday and Sunday, National holidays, New Year's holiday season (12/29-1/3)
Overtime and other explanations : Based on agreement, either discretionary labor system for professional work (the working hours for a day are deemed as 7 hours 45 minutes) or fixed working hours system (including variable working hours system) will be applied.

Education and Degree Requirements
Ph.D. / Doctor
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field by the time of the appointment
Work experience
* Sufficient capability to conduct research in relevant fields
* At least two publications (peer-reviewed academic journal papers, peer-reviewed international conference papers, academic books) in the last 5 years (however, even if the publication is five years or eariler, it is possible to include only one case that can be regarded as particularly important.)
* Sufficient teaching skills for undergraduate students (mostly Japanese) in English
* Interest in communicating with students (at least in English, preferably in Japanese)
* The enthusiasm to work on education, research and university management; interdisciplinary collaborative research is highly encouraged
