Background of the recruitment and description of the project
We are seeking candidates to appoint a 3-years-contract assistant professor on civil engineering, structural engineering and earthquake engineering, in particular computational mechanics based on continuum mechanics and discrete mechanics toward geo-disaster mitigation.

Research in the field of civil and related engineering fields, as well as the education and guidance of students. Examples of courses to be taught are as follows:
Basic Laboratory of Engineering Systems (in College of Engineering Systems)
Research in Engineering Mechanics and Energy I & II, Seminar in Engineering Mechanics and Energy I & II (in Degree program in Engineering Mechanics & Energy)

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree, and possess sufficient research and teaching abilities, as well as experience in their field of expertise.

Supplementary explanation of compensation
Salary: Annual income ranging from 4,000,000 yen to 7,000,000 yen. This is an estimated annual salary for an Assistant Professor (Grade 2).
Working hours: 7 hours and 45 minutes per day, 5 days a week, with a total of 38 hours and 45 minutes per week. If you agree to the application of the discretionary labor system for specialized work, it will be considered that you have worked for 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
Employment status: Full-time (fixed term)
Employment period: Up to three years from the date of appointment.
Overtime: Overtime work may be required as needed.
Holidays: Sundays, Saturdays, national holidays, and from December 29th to January 3rd.
