Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Teaching individually and/or collaboratively the Graduate Technical English coursre to students of science and engineering in the Master's program.
Work content and job description
This course aims to teach research reading, research writing, and research presentation to the Master's students of science and engineering at UEC Tokyo. Following this general curriculum goal, each course of the four graduate school departments is uniquely designed to suit the needs of the disciplines and students. Teachers are paid based on the number of classes conducted in according to the payroll provision of UEC Tokyo.
Working hours
Working hours :16:15-17:45
Holidays : Refer to the UEC teaching schedule.
Overtime and other explanations : The classes of Graduate Technical English are conducted on Mondays (16:15-17:45) and Thursdays (16:15-17:45) in the spring semester only.

Work experience
At least two years of teaching experience at Japanese universities is preferred.
Description

(1) Completion of a Ph.D or a MA in science and engineering fields and/or English education;
(2) The candidates should have at least two refereed academic publications;
(3) Experience in teaching academic and/or scientific/technical English at tertiary level in Japan;
(4) Adequate understanding of EAP and ESP approach to English education, especially in the area of EST (English for Science and Technology);
(5) Advanced proficiency and abilities to teach graduate students in English;
(6) Willingness to work cooperatively in a coordinated English program and with faculty members of students' disciplines;
(7) Willingness to attend course meetings and faculty development activities;
(8) Working proficiency in Japanese required to handle administrative requirements of the university
