Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP) was established in 1957 as a national joint research institute at the University of Tokyo to promote condensed matter physics and materials science research in Japan. In 2010, ISSP was granted a license to operate as a joint research center and act as a center of excellence in condensed matter physics and materials science. Since its inception, Research, Human Capability Development, and Joint Usage are the core axes of our activities.

ISSP are seeking young researchers eager to pioneer new areas in solid state physics in collaboration with associate professor Kondo. The role focuses on developing advanced equipment for photoelectron spectroscopy utilizing extreme laser light sources, conducting experiments with this equipment, and contributing to photoelectron spectroscopy experiments using synchrotron radiation. While no prior experience is required, we are looking for someone with a strong interest in exploring the electronic properties of topological materials,unconventional superconductors, strongly correlated electron systems, atomic-layer thin films, and related topics. Candidates should also actively participate in collaborative research and contribute to the education and mentorship of graduate students.
The scope of change is as follows: Displacement, concurrent service, and secondment may be ordered.

4 of the Regulations on the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.
