Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
We are seeking a faculty member for the Division of Physical Sciences within the Faculty of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for education, research and management works in the Department of Physics, School of Science, as well as the Graduate School of Environmental, Life, Natural Science and Technology.

Experimental condensed matter physics. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in quantum material sciences, e.g., novel quantum phases in strongly correlated systems, topological physics, material development, studies under extreme conditions (such as ultralow temperatures and high magnetic fields), or synchrotron radiation-based research. The candidate is expected to lead an independent research group. We welcome enthusiastic applicants, advancing research and education in collaboration with the faculty members.

Annual Salary : 7 million yen ~
Basic annual salary and Performance-based annual salary : Professor 7,102,000-9,376,000yen
An annual salary system is applied. The amount of annual salary is determined in consideration of the person’s educational background, work experience, etc. according to the Okayama University annual salary Regulations.
The percentage of annual performance pay depends on the length of service within six months prior to the base date (June 1 and December 1) , and the performance rate varies depending on the results of the evaluation.
As allowances, commuting allowance, support allowance, housing allowance, adjustment allowance, etc. will be paid separately to the applicable employees.

Working hours :08:30-17:30
Holidays : Saturdays and Sundays, national holidays, and December 29 to January 3 (Article 42, paragraph 2 of the Personnel Work Rules)
Overtime and other explanations : If the employee agrees to the application of the discretionary work system for specialized work, working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. Overtime work is not required in principle. Day-off work may be required. (Articles 41 and 42 of the Personnel Work Rules)
