    The candidates will proactively engage in research projects related to JST K Program, SYNTHETIQ X (SYNTHETIQ X: Research Platform for Defending and Preventing Spread of Fake Information) and JST CREST FakeMedia (Social Information Technologies to Counter Infodemics) led by Prof. Echizen.

    In this project, we will establish technologies for preventing and defending against the spread of fake information, targeting not only unimodal media consisting of a single modality such as image/video, audio, and text, but also multimodal media consisting of multiple modalities. Furthermore, we will build a fake information research infrastructure (SYNTHETIQ X), which consists of a large dataset of real and fake information and a large number of generation, defense, and prevention models, and is suitable for practicing the offensive and defensive strategies of generating fake information and its defense and prevention.

    The purpose of CREST FakeMedia is to deal appropriately with the potential threats posed by FakeMedia generated by AI and, at the same time, to establish social information technologies that support diverse means of communication and decision-making.

  • Work content and job description

    The candidates will proactively engage in research projects related to JST K Program, SYNTHETIQ X (SYNTHETIQ X: Research Platform for Defending and Preventing Spread of Fake Information) and JST CREST FakeMedia (Social Information Technologies to Counter Infodemics) led by Prof. Echizen.

    Relevant research areas for the research projects are AI security, multimedia security, and multimedia forensics, media processing (image, video, and natural language processing), and machine learning. The candidates should have an interest and background in these and other related technologies.
