  • Work content and job description

    1) Field of Research: Studies on Chemistry of Bioactive Compounds and/or Plant Hormones
    2) Teaching responsibilities:
    (Undergraduate School) Organic Chemistry- and Natural Product Chemistry-related lectures, Experiments in Biological Chemistry and Biotechnology, Exercise in Biological Chemistry and Biotechnology
    (Graduate School) Organic Chemistry- and Natural Product Chemistry-related lectures, Biological Chemistry Frontier, Selected Experiments (I, II, III) in Applied Biological Chemistry, Seminar in Applied Biological Chemistry, Special Seminar in Applied Biological Chemistry
    Scope of change: The faculty member may be reassigned, concurrently assigned, or transferred to another position. (In principle, such an order will not be issued against his/her will. For details, please refer to Article 4 of the Regulations Concerning the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.)

    Basic Salary will be decided taking your academic background, professional background, etc. into account. Wage Raise System: Yes
    Examples: Doctor / from JPY 340,000/month
    Various Allowances:Bonus (twice a year), Commuting Allowance (basically up to JPY 55,000/month), and other allowances decided by the University

Working hours

  • Working hours :09:00-17:30

    Break time :12:00-12:45

    Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and year-end through New Year holidays (from December 29 to January 3 of the following year).

    Overtime and other explanations : Discretionary labor system: Working hours is deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day, basically the above working hours.

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    1) Ph.D., an equivalent qualification, or evidence that either will be obtained by the starting date.

  • Description

    2) The candidate has excellent research achievements and educational abilities, and is able to actively engage in educational guidance for students with enthusiasm.
    3) The candidate should be able to advance cutting-edge research that elucidates the mechanisms of various phenomena occurring inside and outside living organisms with a focus on bioactive substances and/or plant hormones and enables their regulation based on chemistry as a fundamental technology, thereby contributing to solving issues related to food, life, and environment.
    4) The candidate should have extensive knowledge and experience in chemical biology and/or plant hormone science and should be able to take charge of the lectures and exercises indicated in Job Details above.
