Background of the recruitment and description of the project
[Background of Recruitment]
Co-Creation Core for Next-Generation Soft Materials, Hokkaido University spans seven departments, including Science, Engineering, Medicine, Agriculture, Fisheries, Hokkaido University Hospital, and the Field Science Center for Northern Biosphere. The Co-Creation Core conducts basic and applied research on soft materials derived from natural polymers extracted and refined from agricultural, forestry, and fisheries resources. This call seeks a specially appointed member to conduct foundational and clinical research on musculoskeletal tissue reconstruction and regenerative medicine using soft materials. The appointee will primarily work in the Medical Applications Division and collaborate with the Soft Material Synthesis Division, Physical Properties Information and Measurement Division, and the Preparatory Organization for Natural Polymer Bank to advance foundational and clinical applications of novel natural polymer soft materials. Research activities will also involve collaboration with Hokkaido University Hospital. Candidates are expected to actively engage in interdisciplinary research beyond their expertise and promote the practical application of soft material-based medical materials.

Education and Degree Requirements
Ph.D. / Doctor
Possess or expect to obtain a doctoral degree by the time of appointment. (Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science is desirable.)
Work experience
Demonstrate outstanding research abilities and achievements in biomaterials or musculoskeletal tissue reconstruction and regeneration.
Official qualification in specific field, etc.
Possessing medical license (Doctor of Medicine, M.D.) is desirable.
