Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Faculty of International Liberal Arts at Soka University conducts all its courses in English and is dedicated to fostering individuals with a broad-based education and critical thinking skills to thrive in a global society. We are currently seeking candidates who can teach education-related subjects (refer to the courses listed below) at the undergraduate level in English.

Overtime and other explanations : The standard working hours are 8 hours or less per day and 40 hours or less per week; however, the working schedule may vary, depending on the courses the faculty member will take charge of, within the legally stipulated working hours. At least 4 working days per week is required. If the working hours a day exceed 8 hours or the course taught by the faculty member spans both the morning and afternoon, a 1-hour rest period is given.

All applicants should have a Ph.D. (or expected completion) in the Education field, and a minimum of three referred publications are preferred.
A minimum Japanese language proficiency level of N2 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JPLT) is highly recommended for non-native Japanese speakers.
Applicants with teaching experience in the Education field are encouraged to apply.

•Short-listed candidates will be informed by early June, 2025. If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation by this date, you have not been short-listed.
•The first round of interviews will be conducted in the middle of June, 2025. Online interviews are possible.
•Successful candidates in the second screening will be required to attend an interview and deliver a mock lecture at the Soka University campus in the end of June, 2025 (Hachioji City, Tokyo). Online sessions are possible.
•The interview is scheduled to last approximately 30 minutes, and the mock lecture will be about 15–20 minutes. The details of the final selection date and time will be determined later.
Notification of result
•Final results will be communicated to the successful candidates by the end of July 2025.
