Other information:
In the Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science, the marine environment from the open ocean to coastal waters is analyzed in a multifaceted and comprehensive manner using physical and chemical oceanographic techniques. Our research and education aim to secure marine living resources, evaluate the carrying capacity of the marine environment, and conserve the marine environment in biologically productive areas. We seek applicants who research variation of ocean and atmosphere and their interaction from the mid-latitude North Pacific to the Arctic Ocean and their impacts on the global environment. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to education and research in the field, including the use of the training vessels of Hokkaido University and other vessels. We are also interested in candidates who actively participate in domestic and international research projects and who will actively contribute to the management of the university.
