Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    The Department of Computer Science at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Osaka, invites applications for a faculty position in the field of distributed computing, with a focus on algorithmic theory. We are seeking a candidate who actively engages in cutting-edge research on topics such as distributed systems, fault tolerance, and self-stabilization. Through advancing these research areas, the successful applicant is expected to contribute to the development of sustainable and highly reliable distributed systems, promoting a broad range of studies from theoretical foundations to practical applications. We welcome applicants who are eager to contribute to the advancement of the field through both research and education, and who demonstrate the potential for international recognition and collaboration. In addition to conducting research, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as courses in the university-wide liberal arts education program.     Ph.D. / Doctor

    A doctoral degree or equivalent professional expertise and/or achievement in the above field/s

    - Experiences in supervising students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
