  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    The Faculty of Science and Technology at Sophia University is inviting applications for full-time faculty
    positions at the Department of Digital Green Technology (establishment in progress/to be newly established in
    April 2027), as follows.

  • Work content and job description

    ◎Field of expertise:
    The fields related to Digital transformation (DX) and Green transformation (GX), with utilizing digital technology focusing on data science. Specific areas include:
    A) Digital technology application areas with a focus on data science (machine learning, (generative) AI, natural language processing, network computing, IoT, etc.)
    B) Chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering, and electrical and electronic engineering as applications of digital technology focusing on data science (materials informatics, process informatics, bioinformatics, drug discovery informatics, self-driving technology, robotic informatics, energy management systems, smart cities, design informatics, etc.)

    ◎Teaching duties: Successful applicants will be responsible for teaching the following subjects in accordance with their field of specialization.
    Assistant professor: Undergraduate lecture subjects (approx. four subjects/year), undergraduate laboratory subjects, research project for graduation, graduate school lecture subjects, general subjects
    Professor/associate professor: Graduate school guidance subjects, in addition to the assistant professor’s teaching duties

Selection / Notification of result

  • Selection

    First screening: Screening of documents
    Second screening: A second screening shall be conducted only for those who pass the first screening. Candidates will be asked to explain their aspirations for education and research after assuming their post, introduce their own research, and give a mock lecture in public, after which they will be interviewed. Selection will be made based on a comprehensive assessment of the content of these interviews. Applicants will be contacted directly to schedule the interview date and time.
