Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Faculty of Law of Chuo University (English Section) invites applications for a full-time tenured position to begin on 1 April 2026.
Work content and job description
a. Teaching: mainly English classes; plus seminars and lecture courses taught in English or English and Japanese in areas broadly related to law, politics or international business and law (e.g., global political and economic issues, environmental law and policy, human rights, social justice, sustainable development)
b. Collaborating and coordinating with colleagues on curriculum development and faculty development
c. Supporting students outside the classroom (academic counselling, advice for studying abroad, career advice, teaching practice support, etc.)
d. Participation in university and faculty activities conducted in Japanese (e.g., committee work, tasks related to entrance examinations and the Distance Learning Division)
e. Academic research

Description
a. Candidates must either hold a PhD degree or have academic publications of an equivalent standard. Candidates with a PhD must have at least one year of teaching experience in higher education (university or college); candidates without a PhD must have at least two years of teaching experience.
b. Candidates should have some competence in Japanese and be able to participate in meetings and perform basic administrative tasks in Japanese.
