Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
The Laboratory of Bio-Environmental Engineering, Division of Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Osaka, is responsible for conducting research on environmental conservation and restoration, and sustainable utilization of energy and resource using the abilities of living organisms (microorganisms and plants). The current research focuses are exploring the functions of useful microorganisms, elucidating interactions between organisms, controlling the dynamics of microbial communities at the molecular level, and applying those to environmental technologies, with the aim of establishing a co-beneficial process that combines conservation and purification of water environments with resource recovery and circulation.
The laboratory is seeking an academic staff member who can contribute to developing and harnessing the strength of the laboratory’s research and open new frontiers in the research field, with flexible and comprehensive thinking and unique expertise. We look forward to receiving applications from young people who are motivated and enthusiastic to actively engage in interdisciplinary research that combines different fields and to collaborate with domestic and international research institutes and companies. The successful applicant will be responsible for not only conducting research but also teaching liberal arts and other subjects at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
