Job description

  • Background of the recruitment and description of the project

    Responsibilities:
    (1) Coordinating all related administrative works at the International Institute of American Studies and focusing on the following duties:
     ・To support all the joint research projects (Bumon-Kenkyu) and other academic activities sponsored by the International Institute of American Studies
     ・To improve the collection of academic materials at the International Institute of American Studies
     ・To support the editorial board of Doshisha American Studies
    (2) To make contributions to the research projects that the International Institute of American Studies promotes
    (3) To pursue original independent research and publish outcomes
    (4) To make contributions to the promotion of international collaboration
    (5) To engage in all other duties under the mandate of Doshisha University (such as the duties for the university’s entrance examinations)

  • Description

    Applicants must meet the following conditions (1) or (2), and also meet conditions (3) and (4).
    (1) Ph.D.degree or equivalent qualification in American Studies in the humanities
    (2) Academic achievement is based on the field of American Studies and has been enrolled in a doctoral course of the graduate school for 3 years or more, or has an equivalent background
    (3) Publications in refereed academic journals
    (4) Excellent proficiency in both Japanese and English
