Job description

    The Center for Cancer Immunotherapy and Immunobiology (CCII), Graduate School of Medicine, invites applications for the position of Program-Specific Associate Professor. Please apply or recommend a suitable candidate.

    Leading an independent team and conducting research on cancer immunotherapy or immunology at the Centre for Cancer Immunotherapy and Immunobiology (CCII).
    Candidates with backgrounds in all areas of immunology, immunotherapy, cancer, and metabolism are invited to apply.
    *An annual research fund of up to JPY 20 million is provided to support research activities.

  • Annual Salary : 8 million yen ~ 9 million yen

    The salary: JPY 8.5 million/year.
    Financial assistance for relocation costs.
    No additional allowances (such as for commuting, housing, bonuses, etc.) will be provided.

Working hours

    Break time :12:00-13:00

    Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, New Year’s holidays and the university’s founding anniversary (June 18)

    Overtime and other explanations : The Discretionary Labor System for Specialized Staff applies, with a work schedule equivalent to 38 hours and 45 minutes per week, or 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
    When the Discretionary Labor System is not applied, the standard work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM, with a break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, five days a week.
    Overtime work may be required upon necessity.

Qualifications

  • Education and Degree Requirements

    Ph.D. / Doctor

    A PhD or MD-PhD in any STEM discipline (candidates with undergraduate and graduate training in mathematics, physics, computational sciences and related fields are strongly encouraged to apply; PhD research-equivalent MDs will be considered on a case-by-case basis).

  • Work experience

    Three years or more of postdoctoral experience. These positions are intended to support new PIs, but candidates with two years or less of experience running their own lab may be considered.

    Five (5) years from the date of hire.
    The contract may be renewed for up to a maximum of eight (8) years. The renewal of the contract will be determined after an evaluation stage.

    Six (6) months, based on the university's employment regulations for faculty and staff
